SERVICES

  • Individualized Speech Therapy

At Little Voices, we believe therapy should be play-based, child-led, and family-centered because we know that children learn best through play and make the best progress when skills are practiced with their family and caregivers. We provide these services in the child’s natural environment; home, daycare, preschool, or private school.

  • Comprehensive Evaluations

A full and individualized evaluation will be completed using formal and informal assessment, a parent interview, teacher and caregiver questionnaires, and speech and language samples. Depending on the child’s age and attention span, evaluations are usually completed in 45-60 minutes. Following the evaluation, you will receive an evaluation report which will include recommendations and a treatment plan to best address the areas of difficulty identified during the evaluation.

  • Language and Literacy Sessions

We offer specialized sessions to target the language and literacy skills that facilitate reading success. These sessions can focus on a variety of areas; phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, letter identification, letter-sound correspondence, word reading, vocabulary, narrative skills and more. These sessions can target the pre-reading skills necessary for later reading success, as a preventative measure for your child. The speech-language pathologist can also explicitly teach reading skills to a child that needs extra reading support or has already been diagnosed with the language based reading disorder of dyslexia. Although it is not uncommon for children with speech and language disorders to also experience difficulty reading, a formal speech or language diagnosis is not required to schedule language and literacy sessions.

  • Feeding Therapy

Is your child experiencing difficulty chewing or swallowing? Do they often cough, choke, or gag while eating or drinking? Are they experiencing difficulty transitioning to different food textures? Are they experiencing difficulty with breast or bottle feeding? Are they an extremely picky eater? If you answered yes to any of these questions, a feeding assessment may be indicated. Reach out today to schedule a phone consultation with a speech language pathologist to decide what the best next steps are for your child.

  • Classes and Groups

Little Voices offers caregiver-child communication classes and enrichment groups to encourage speech, language, and literacy development through play. Play based groups and classes will keep children engaged through books, music, and play while giving them the opportunity to socialize with peers.
